Customer Review
“The staff were very respectful. They finished the project at the same price that was quoted to me. I would definitely call them in again, everything was up to quality standards.”
Yukimo S.

The Kensington-Cedar Cottage area had its beginnings in 1888 when Arthur Wilson bought 16 hectares of land to start the Cedar Cottage Nursery and shortly after other folks bought large parcels of land for farming around Trout Lake. This land bordered on today’s Knight and Westminster Highway. The Electric Interurban railway line linking New Westminster and Vancouver opened up this area in 1891 bringing in more farmers and shop owners who opened shops around the train stop at Commercial and 18th. At the beginning of WW1 Cedar Cottage became less rural with small houses of wood and stucco lining the streets. Industry also grew with companies such as Nanaimo Foundry, Tati Pipe, Bader’s Biscuits, Marston’s Sash and Door and Fletcher’s Meats.

Today’s Kensington-Cedar Cottage area has a large social and demographic mix with a remarkable variety of ethnic groups. A flourishing group of artists also lives in this area. Kensington-Cedar Cottage sits in the centre of east Vancouver and nearby is Trout Lake.
